The location was great; the traditional geisha Gion area on one side of the river, modern shopping (Takashimaya) on the other. The architectural design and furniture were gorgeous: clean lines, Scandinavian-Japanese-mid-century modern. The staff is extremely professional, kind and warm, genuinely caring about making your stay an unforgettable experience. They gave us fantastic recommendations for dining and were incredibly kind in helping us extend our stay. Practical information available on restaurants and activities in Kyoto. The accommodation was spacious and very well designed. Provided all one needed for a very comfortable stay. The bath was more than relaxing; it was almost purifying. The in room breakfasts are delicious too - fresh fruit, pastries, thick cut brioche bread, yogurt, etc. Could not recommend this property more highly - it is beautiful.
